Water right changes made under the provisions of a drought declaration expire at the end of the current year unless extended or terminated by the IDWR Director.
In October 1984, the Swan Falls Agreement resolved an ongoing controversy between Idaho Power and the State of Idaho over how to balance water uses for agriculture and water needs for hydropower generation in the Snake River Basin.
