Water right changes made under the provisions of a drought declaration expire at the end of the current year unless extended or terminated by the IDWR Director.
In 2015, the Surface Water Coalition (SWC) and Idaho Ground Water Appropriators, Inc. (IGWA) reached a settlement agreement, related to the SWC Delivery Call, addressing mitigation for material injury to senior surface water rights caused by depletion effects from junior ground water users’ diversions from the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer.
